Quaker nougat is a fairly simple recipe, made with cookies, a cocoa cream and a couple of other ingredients. Besides being cheap, it can be done for the whole family in just 1 hour and a half, being a rich and nutritious food.
Quaker makes rice, cookies and assorted cereals. The most outstanding of these is their oatmeal, which has a high percentage of soluble fiber (which helps regulate cholesterol levels), in addition to minerals such as iron and magnesium, and vitamin E, among other digestive properties.
Ingredients (6 people)
- 3 cups of oatmeal
- 1 packet of lard
- 3 cups of sugar
- 1 cup (105 grams) of cocoa powder
- 1/2 kilo of milk candy
- 3 packets of Creole cookies
Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the sugar and mix with a wooden spoon. Keep stirring while adding oats, cocoa and milk candy. Cook everything for 5 minutes without mixing.
Then, put a layer of cookies in a mold and put over the oatmeal mixture. Repeat the process until you run out of cookies. The last layer should always be chocolate.
Reserve in the refrigerator until the nougat hardens. once it has set, serve it sliced and accompany it with a vanilla, chocolate, oatmeal shake or the flavor you prefer.
